Act 1, Scene 2, Iago

-"Though in the trade of war I have slain men,
Yet do I hold it very stuff o' th' conscience
To do no contrived murder. I lack iniquity
(Sometimes) to do me service. Nine or ten times
I had thought t' have yerked him here under the
ribs." (Iago, p.21)

-This quote gives insight into Iago's character because it shows how decieving he is and how easily he can lie right to Othello's face. He is warning Othello about Brabantio's coming to fight him but Iago was the one who set Brabantio against Othello in the first place.

-This quote is connected to the theme of betrayl, which has been a very prominent theme in the play so far and I think one of the most important themes overall in this play.

-Iniquity: gross injustice; wickedness; a wicked act or thing; sin

-Question 1: Do you think Iago's karma will catch up with him at the end of play and he will be punished for all the evil things hes done?

Question 2: When do you think Othello will realize Iago is betraying him? Will it be too late by then?
