The Duke

The quote; To mourn a mischief that is past and gone Is the next day to draw more mischief on.
(pg.43)
This quote gives us a insight upon what the duke, brabantio and othello is talking about and if you brake it down the duke is saying that it is misfortunate that desdemona doesn't want othello but in the future their will always be someone else that you can find and that if desdemona doesn't want you so be it because you can't really make her be with you because if you really love her you will let her be happy but othello isn't understanding it.
This quote can be connected to alot of things because it's basically just saying that a person or thing can choose what they want and if you really care for it you will let it do what they think it's best because if you don't you are just holding them back and they will never be happy.
vocab word; beguiled: to influence by trickery, flattery, etc.; mislead; delude.
open-ended-questions: why in the book they treat women as if they are property? As if women back then didn't have a say in what they wanted.
would you ever fight for someone to be with you? why or why not? why do you think othello wants desdemona so bad? explain your answer.
