Act 1, Scene 2, Othello

"my parts, my title, and my perfect soul shall manifest me rightly." (p.23) this said after Iago tells him that the Duke wants to talk to him about Barbantio's daughter Desamona and there so called "theft" of a marriage. this shows that Othello saw this confrontation coming and already knew that his name alone should clear some of the problems that her father may have with him. Othello sees situations coming, analyses it and solves it accordingly. Just like the war which he plays a big part in and with his marriage which was unapproved of. This is directly connected to power because he is saying that his name in the military will out pass and accusations he can throw at him, Othello knows he didn't do a damn thing wrong so he has no fear.

scurvy: insulting

how doesn't Othello ask how Barbantio found out about the marriage?

what brought Othello to marry right before he started a war?
